BAND |
 |
|
Even
as a solo artist,
Jad gives a lot
of importance to
his band and what
they bring to his
music. He’s
going to introduce
each band member
because, even if
he writes the songs
and performs them,
it’s his
band that makes
him stand out and
shine.
Jad’s teamwork
philosophy is:
“Everybody
has to make the
other musicians
comfortable by
sending good and
positive energy
that will be sent
back to them, creating
a circle of love,
respect and trust.
That’s the
only way to make
the most of the
band. I’m
not the boss; I’m
just a guide who
allows my musicians
to express their
deepest feelings
and their personalities
through the reflection
of their souls
in the music we
play.”

Marc
Ueter (Piano)
Born in
1962, Marc
started taking
piano lessons
at the age
of 5. After
9 years of
classical
music studies,
he decided
to take another
path by studying
jazz, which
he discovered
when he heard
a jazz record.
He took jazz
lessons from
M. Henri
Chaix in
Geneva. Then,
when he turned
17, he joined
The Swiss
Jazz School
in Bern.
Since then,
he has played
in many jazz
bands, gaining
a lot of
experience,
and sometimes
playing in
5 bands at
a time. His
broad musical
experience,
his knowledge
and his maturity
make him
a natural
leader in
the band. |

Diana
(Violin)
Born in
1983, Diana
joined
Le Conservatoire
de Lausanne
at the
age of
6 to study
the violin.
She is
currently
earning
a teaching
diploma
to be completed
in 2006.
She also
takes improvisation
classes
at EJMA
(a Jazz
and Contemporary
Music School)
in Lausanne.
Additionally,
she plays
in many
classical
orchestras.
Her classical
style and
her ability
to create
memorable
melodies
bring grace
and sweetness
to Jad’s
songs. |

Philippe
Baumann (Bass)
Born in
1974, Philippe
didn’t
follow
the academic
path like
the other
musicians.
He has
previously
played
with Jad
in a rock
band from
2002 to
2003. He
first took
up the
guitar
in his
teens and
then started
to play
the bass
because
his first
band was
looking
for a bass
player.
His even
temper
and his
commitment
to the
band make
him an
appreciated
band member
who gets
things
right quickly. |

Yacine
Bouali (Drums
and percussions)
Born in
1977, Yacine
takes up
drums at
the age
of 5 with
his uncle
drummer.
Like Jad,
he is a
self-taught
musician.
From teens,
he plays
in many
rock bands
and by
the way
with Jad
and Philippe
from 2002
to 2003.
He’s
got the
sense of
rhythm
as he has
African
background.
He’s
also able
to make
good arrangements.
He’s
a close
friend
of Jad
and their
friendship
is as strong
in music
as in daily
life. |

Flavia
Delacrétaz
(Vocal Backup)
Born in
1982, Flavia
began singing
in early
childhood.
When she
was 19,
she decided
to enter
the Conservatoire
of Lausanne
where she
has been
studying
for a diploma
in teaching
music.
After graduating,
she plans
to continue
at the
conservatory
and earn
another
diploma
in teaching
singing.
Like Jad,
it was
only recently
that Flavia
chose to
study music
in order
to make
a living.
Starting
later in
life is
not only
courageous
but hard
work as
well. The
warm sound
of her
jazzy voice
mixes perfectly
with Jad’s
lower pitched
voice. |
